Gettysburg Inner Loop

The Gettysburg Inner Loop (GIL) is a network of roads, alleys, and off-road trails that enables safe travel around the borough. It is being built and added to in phases, with new sections being opened every few years. These trails can be as simple as sharrows on the roadway, marking a shared road, or as nice as an off-road path.

The goal of this network is to connect places of business, points of historic interest, and schools to promote all usage needs. Our vision is that this system can create a safe, effective way to cycle around town for errands, exercise, and work commuting.

The full feasibility study and plan—as well as information on how alternative transportation trails and paths benefit the environment, raise home values, create safe spaces to exercise, and more—can be found on our Resources Page.
